statement of dissent from OII

OII is an organization that is against all treatment standards without the consent of intersex children and adults.

We oppose any declaration of consensus, especially consensus statements without the representation of intersex as partners in whole.

We have no desire for consensus because intersex do not agree on:

• The exact definition of intersex
• Treatments which are suitable for anyone intersex
• Assigning a gender identity by intersexual variation, which is currently the case in many countries.
• The pathological definition of our bodies and identities

OII advocates for human rights for all intersex people. Therefore, we oppose any attempt to impose definitions, terminology and treatments on all persons born in a body atypical according to the standards applicable to categorize individuals in one sex official.

The consensus statements imply that there is consent. We do not consent!
