I saw RPG metanoia.

I went with little expectations, thinking it will be like last time I saw a Filipino animation (Panday on TV) which was a complete disaster.

the contrary. RPG is perhaps the best film in the festival! YES it is! even better than Rosario.

the story is engaging and charming. this film world-class nature showed only Filipino (which did great!). All characters have unique personalities. they were all friendly and funny.

I love that the film has focused on Filipino culture, the games we played when we are grown, our values, and about how our identity. and the fact that it was done by Filipino Filipino.

I hope this film would be shown around the world and perhaps the world we begin to appreciate more. and perhaps we would begin to appreciate ourselves more.

I Went With small expectations in Think That It Is Going To Be Like the last time i saw year animation made by filipino Which Was a complete disaster (Panday cartoon on tv).

quite the opposite, RPG IS Perhaps The Best In The Film Festival. yes that's right! Even Better than rosario.

the story is engaging and charming. this world class film showed a uniquely filipino character (which made the film. super!). all the characters were likeable and had personality.

i love that the film focused on philippine culture, the games with played growing up, our values, and somehow our identity. and the fact that it was made by filipinoes for filipinoes.

i wish that the movie would be shown around the world and maybe the world will appreciate us more. and maybe we would appreciate ourselves more.

i suffer from indignation at having recently learned that a film worth of zero or less had been rewarded with the most supreme recognition possible and this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

I could only think of one reason of how a travesty of this scale and that CAN happen is, those responsible lacked MUST have the minimum capacity for appreciation of a real work of art. Maybe TATANGA OF THE VOTE MMFFP ..

in defense of my point of view that the film Rosario (the one and only film that) deserved to win, then why list here.

1. Rosario was a period piece. from language, costumes, the production, and historical background. the characters were all bound by the politics and cultural identity of the time and therefore painted a convincing, albeit nostalgic and ruthless, Illusion of circa 1920.

2. it is a tragedy. as with ancient great tragedies of human history, this one leaves us empty, shriveled and paradoxically wanting more. a haunting reminder of what we are all capable of, when under the influence of necessity and unmanaged desires.

3. it hosts an assemblage of highly respected, capable, and major knock-out (i-could-not-take-my-eyes-off-them) artists.

4. and finally, the other entries were evident clichés paling simply to the grandeur of what this film represents.

I'm willing to watch movies especially highlighted Rosario who is the winner of Ciné Mabuhay and it is adultery in the 1920s. a movie to see absolutism. and of course, Sid Lucero is there.

Metanoia demonstrates the possibilities but I am betting he will miss humor. required for these types of films. technology they used, appears current.

I normally do not watch Filipino movies because most of time they are boring. they use the same story the same formula over and over again. for example, looks Mo Mother, Last to . et Shake Rattle & Roll XII. un peu n'est-ce pas pathetique!?

I definitely agree with his philosophy of individualism. it makes me a individualista. someone who is against the principles of liberal and leftist Christian right.

but as a society I think we also need some type of socialism. eg health et l'éducation. les deux seraient bon pour la société. n'est-ce pas? cependant, on doit penser de l'individuel.

when i finished her biography, it left me wondering about it's entirety. her struggles and her achievements were certainly impressive. not to mention the steamy affairs, emotional upheavals, that she and the collective underwent. she was brillant. and i immediately thought of why her life hasn't been picked up by hollywood. it was scandalous.
